Mustek releases the first CyberDisplay^TM Digital Camera at Comdex '99

Mustek Systems, Taiwan - November 1999 - Mustek, Inc. is pleased to announce a new addition to its current digital camera family, the GSmart 350. Incorporated with a color CyberDisplay^TM , the GSmart 350 is a 350K pixel VGA resolution Digital Still Camera (DSC) that is not only compact in size but also versatile in function.

Mustek is the world's first camera manufacturer to incorporate the CyberDisplayTM technology into a digital camera. With two to three times the resolution of a 90,000-110,000 pixel 1.8"-2.0" LCD display, the CyberDisplayTM is an Active-Matrix Liquid Crystal Display (AMLCD) capable of displaying imgages with 320 x 240 full-color resolution. The result is bright, vivid color images (76,800 pixels), like having a built-in PC monitor for your camera. So you can view the most realistic virtual images up to four at a time even under direct sunlight. True framing and exposure feedback, what you see is what you get, and easy-to-read fonts are just some of the benefits of this display, which also significantly reduces power consumption.

Able to store 8 to 12 high-resolution images with its built-in memory, the GSmart 350 also provides a standard CompactFlash^TM card slot to allow for greater image capturing resources and portability. The USB interface provides an efficient way of transferring the captured image to your PC/Notebook. The unique Bus Power design requires no battery power while connected to the computer so no power adapter is needed. The alkaline AA battery support allows the user to purchase batteries just about anywhere. And with only 3 batteries supporting up to 1,000 shots, the GSmart 350 is significantly more power efficient than other digital cameras currently available.

Specifically targeted for consumers new to digital cameras, the GSmart 350 is not only an easy Plug-and-Play digital camera but also presents a convenient profile and stylish design. It is compact and lightweight so it can be brought anywhere, allowing pictures to be taken anytime thereby capturing precious moments that will last a lifetime.
